Personal Profile.png

Your personal profile contains many important options you should check and set before using Rental Beam, the most important of which is your Email Address.

Rental Beam uses both In-World Instant Messages and Email to send you important system notices. You should always enter a valid Email Address so that the Rental Beam web site may contact you. Make sure you add 'accounts@rentalbeam4sl.com' to your Address Book so that notices sent by email do not end up in your SPAM folder. Note that you can use the 'Test' button to send a sample email message to yourself. This may help you mark them as non-SPAM messages.

Option Settings on the Personal Profile Page

The Personal Profile page contains complete instructions for each of the options. Refer to those instructions for the latest most accurate information.

Our Policy on Privacy

We are concerned with privacy at all stages of Rental Beam. Our policies regarding your privacy are explained at Rental Beam Privacy Statement.

Controlling Rental Beam Displays and Messages

Your Personal Profile defines how Rental Beam displays your Rental Listings and sends you system messages.

Show Map Image

The Text Listing format of the Available Properties list normally displays the Region Map when the mouse is hovered over the Rental Name. Uncheck this checkbox to suppress the display of the Region Map. When unchecked, if you have entered Notes for the Rental then the Rental Name will be shown with an underline to indicate that custom notes are available.

Region Map Only

Rental Beam normally displays a Hover Map of the Region where the Rental is located. Turn this option OFF (uncheck) to allow the display of any custom Parcel Picture assigned. Use Manage Rentals to set a custom Parcel Picture.

Stalled Plugin Notice

The Rental Beam Plugin must be reset properly after adding it into a Rental Box or Meter. If the Plugin has not reset properly then Rental Beam will send you an email reminding you to RESET the Rental Box in some fashion. Uncheck this option if you do NOT wish to receive these email notices.

Notices by Email

The Rental Beam system can send System Notices to you via Email. These Notices contain important information about your Rental Beam system and its operation. When the option to send "Notices by Email" is enabled then you will receive an Email that contains important information from the Notice.

Notices by IM

The Rental Beam system can send System Notices to you via Instant Message. These Notices contain important information about your Rental Beam system and its operation. When the option to send "Notices by IM" is enabled then you will receive an Instant Message with important information from the Notice.

Note that turning off this feature will also stop the recording of System Notices. Only those System Notices that are sent via Instant Message are recorded and may be reviewed on the System Notices report.

Include in Global

The Rental Beam system provides a single page listing of all available properties in the Rental Beam database; the page is called the "Global Listings" page. When the page is accessed by a potential tenant, they are able to select criteria such as Prim Count, Parcel Size and Weekly Rental amount. Your Available Rental listings are by default included in the results displayed. If you DO NOT want your Available Rental listings included in the "Global Listings" results then uncheck this checkbox.

Setting In-World SLurls

Enter one or more full SLurls to your Rental Office locations. There will always be one extra blank entry. Type a new SLurl into the blank entry then click 'Save' to store it and display a new extra blank entry. Clear and entry and click 'Save' to delete a SLurl. These values are provided only for your convenience and are not currently used by Rental Beam.

You can enter the SLurl using one of two different formats. The format you use determines what happens when someone clicks one of your SLurl entries (for example from a [[Manage_Hosted_Pages|Hosted Page]).

Link Format When a user clicks the link ...
secondlife://Region/X/Y/Z SL Viewer opens and Land Info is displayed for location
http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Region/X/Y/Z Second Life maps website opens at the location
When one of your SLurls is viewed in Second Life using "Media on a Prim", it will always be converted into a direct Land Info link.

Setting Social Networking Identities

Select a Social Networking site from the drop-down list then enter your Handle or Account name in the entry blank to the right. There will always be one entry set to '(none)'. Select a new Social Networking site and enter an Account name then click 'Save' to add an entry. Set the Social Networking drop-down to '(none)' and click 'Save' to remove an entry. These values are provided only for your convenience and are not currently used by Rental Beam.

Setting Listing Sort Options

These entries determine the order your Available Property Listings are displayed. There will always be one entry set to '(none)'. Select a Field Name and click 'Save' to add a new Sort criteria.
